Tis’ the season for giving and I’m excited to announce that today is the start of ADI’s companywide Holiday Toy Drive. Running today, November 18, until December 12, ADI employees, vendors, rep firms and customers can donate toys to any ADI branch. We’re looking forward to everyone’s participation and donations so that we can make the holidays a little brighter for those in need.
We also wanted to take the time to look back at past 2019 charity events, including the first companywide canned food drive that ran from July 29 to August 9. More than 20 site locations participated, including one that was able to collect 500lbs of food.
Individual ADI Branches have also hosted their own charity events throughout the year, including the Toronto branch. ADI Branch Manager Joanne Rowe spearheaded sponsoring a wish through Starlight Foundation and raised more than $5,000. The Toronto branch also held a Staff Volleyball Tournament for Sick Kids Hospital and collected $4,700.
“I truly believe that charity starts at home and I’m happy to be a part of an organization that gives back to the community. Aside from helping others, coming together for charity programs has helped with team building because we’re working towards a common goal that’s outside of our sales goals. However, we (Toronto branch) currently are exceeding our sales goals and I attribute that to our participation in charity programs,” said Joanne Rowe, Toronto ADI Branch Manager.
While many branch and site locations have been hosting their own individual charitable programs over the year, ADI is focused on making it more of a concerted effort in order to increase the amount giving back to the community. Moving forward, ADI’s charity committee, including Jodi DeDomenico, Dan Sherrard, Gina Barrett and Michelle Nussbaum, will plan and execute companywide charity events in 2020. This includes adding a charity component to large company events.
